FELLING

This is a term we use for removing a tree to ground level, this is usually done in two ways. If there is a lack of space then the tree may need to be dismantled in small pieces that we can handle which we can lower down into a designated area without any damage occurring. The second procedure would be felling the tree from ground level, or sectional felling in large pieces. This can only happen if the tree is in adequate space.

REDUCING

This is a term we use for reducing the tree canopy by an overall percentage.

This is general used when a tree is becoming too big for the surrounding area. First we will access the tree species and recommend a suitable reducing to maintain the trees appearance and more importantly its health.

PRUNING

This is a term used for dealing with smaller trees and shrubs. Some fruit trees and smaller shrubs need a little more care in how they are cut. Generally they will only be cut in certain times of the year to prevent loss of fruit or flower.

HEDGE CUTTING

A lot of hedges need a regular cut to make sure that they are kept tidy and healthy. If not cut then certain hedges become hard to maintain. Conifer hedges are a prime example of this, if they become too large they can often be difficult to cut back to an appropriate size.

STUMP GRINDING

We grind out around 70% of the tree stumps that are left once the tree is at ground level. In some cases they can be left. We mainly grind out the roots if they are in the way of a building project or are cause problems to a building structure. Another good reason for stump grinding is because they can often house fungus which can spread to neighbouring trees.

REPLANTING

Re-planting – For a lot of our customers who do not want to lose a tree but are forced to do so through die back and other issues decide to re-plant a new tree in place of the existing one. We can supply and plant high quality shrubs and trees in a suitable location to the customers satisfaction.
